Error 30159 may occur because file setup in Windows is improper. Other factors that can lead to QuickBooks error 30159 are –

  • QuickBooks installation process is incomplete.
  • Software setup folder has got deleted.
  • A virus or malware is infecting Windows system files.
  • A program related to accounting tool has got deleted.
  • Corrupt Windows system file.
  • Damaged or corrupted QuickBooks file.
  • Inactive Employer Identification Number (EIN) status.
  • Some problem has occurred in QB installation.
  • Windows is not updated.
  • You are using the non-updated version of QuickBooks Payroll.
  • Corrupted Windows registration files.
  • Misconfigured Windows file.
  • Hardware has been deleted improperly.

Symptoms of QuickBooks Payroll Error 30159

The symptoms associated with QuickBooks error code 30159 are given below –

  • Program window crashes and QuickBooks error 30159 flashes on the screen.

Solutions to Fix QuickBooks Error 30159

Various solutions are available to fix QuickBooks error 30159 –

1. Restore your PC

Follow these steps –

  • Firstly, sign in with the administrator account.
  • In the search field on the bottom-left of your screen, type the words system restore.
  • System Restore window will get opened.
  • Look for the option that restores your PC to a previous time.
  • Choose the above option.
  • Now, look for the Next button and click on it.
  • A confirmation window will appear on the screen.
  • Reboot PC.
  • Finally, check for QuickBooks Payroll error 30159.

2. Add EIN to QB company file

  • First of all, login into your QuickBooks.
  • Secondly, navigate to the Payroll option.
  • Find the option – Use my current payroll service.
  • Choose this option and a window with the name Account Maintenance will appear on your screen.
  • Look for the Add file button and click on it.
  • Find the radio button adjacent to the Add EIN number.
  • Now, you have to check whether the radio button is in the enabled state or disabled state.
  • If in case you find that the radio button is disabled, it implies correct Employer Identification Number (EIN).
  • Select the Next button to close the window.
  • At last, evaluate information and go back to the normal QuickBooks window.

3. Scan for issues

  • Download and install QB Payroll error utility.
  • Once the installation has completed and the utility window gets opened, look for the Scan button and click on it.
  • Allow the scanning process to complete.
  • Now, click on the Fix QB errors button and let the process complete.
  • Finally, after the process has finished, reboot your computer.
  • Now, see if QuickBooks Payroll error 30159 is appearing or not.

4. Run Disk Cleanup

If you are using Windows 8 or 8.1, follow these steps –

  • Firstly, go to My Computer.
  • Then, look for Settings and click on it.
  • Look for Control Panel and click on it.
  • Now, choose Administrative Tools.
  • Click on the Disk Cleanup option.
  • Go to the list of drives.
  • Now, you have to select which drive you want to clean by running Disk Cleanup.
  • Go to the list of files to delete.
  • Now, you have to select which files you want to clean by running Disk Cleanup.
  • Finally, click on the OK button and then on the Delete files button.

If you are using Windows 10, follow these steps –

  • In the Search bar at the left bottom, type disk cleanup.
  • Hit the Enter key.
  • Go to the list of drives.
  • Now, you have to select which drive you want to clean by running Disk Cleanup.
  • Go to the list of files to delete.
  • Now, you have to select which files you want to clean by running Disk Cleanup.
  • Finally, click on the OK button and then on the Delete files button.

After disk cleanup process is complete, check whether QuickBooks Payroll error 30159 is appearing or not.
