For QuickBooks Error 15241 Windows 10, 8, 7 and Windows Vista, Following Steps to Fix-

  • First of all, close your QuickBooks Desktop.
  • Go to the Windows Start button on the bottom-left of your screen and click it.
  • Look for Computer and right-click it.
  • From the list that appears, select Manage.
  • If in case, you are using Microsoft Windows 10, you have to go to the Search field in the taskbar and type the word Computer. Results will automatically pop up. Go to This PC and right-click it. From the list that appears, select Manage.
  • In the left pane of the window that gets opened, look for Services and Applications and open it.
  • Now, double-click Services in the right pane.
  • Search for Intuit QBFCS / file copy service in the list of services and double-click it.
  • Intuit QuickBooks file copy service (FCS) properties window will get opened.
  • Go to the General tab in the Intuit QuickBooks file copy service (FCS) properties window.
  • Open the Startup type menu present in the middle of the properties window.
  • Choose Manual.
  • Click the Apply button present on the bottom-right of the file copy service properties window.
  • Click the Start button, and after that click the OK button.
  • Now, you have to open your QuickBooks Desktop.
  • You should now download the QuickBooks Desktop product updates.
  • At last, payroll tax tables should be updated.

For Windows XP, Following Steps to Fix-

  • First of all, close your QuickBooks Desktop.
  • Look for My Computer on your desktop.
  • Right-click My Computer.
  • From the list that pops up, choose Manage.
  • A window with the name Computer Management gets opened.
  • Look for Services and Applications and open it.
  • Now, open Services
  • You will find the Services in which window will get open on the right side.

  • Search for Intuit QB FCS / file copy service in the list of services and double-click it.

  • Intuit QuickBooks file copy service (FCS) properties window will get opened.
  • Go to the General tab in the Intuit QuickBooks file copy service (FCS) properties window.
  • Open the Startup type menu present in the middle of the properties window.
  • Choose Manual.

  • Now, you have to open your QuickBooks Desktop.

  • Finally, after performing all the above steps, you have to update payroll tax tables.
  • Check whether error 15241 is appearing or not.
