
QuickBooks is accounting software for large as well as small scale businesses. The aim of QuickBooks is to increase efficiency and productivity. In order to bring ease to the user, QuickBooks offers some specific keyboard shortcuts to reduce the time spent on performing routine tasks on the QuickBooks application. Ctrl+Del: Delete selected line
Ctrl+Ins: Insert a blank line
Ctrl+Alt+Y: Copy a line into an invoice
Ctrl+Alt+V: Paste the line from the clipboard where desired
Ctrl+N: Make a new transaction or item
Ctrl+D: Delete transaction
Ctrl+E: Edit an item

F5: This is available on the multi-user mode and can be used for refreshing the list.
Ctrl+H: History of the transaction
Ctrl+W: Write checks
Ctrl+Q: Highlight a customer, vendor or an account and press these keys to open a Quick Report
Ctrl+Y: open Transaction Journal
Ctrl+J: Open Customer Center
Ctrl+A: Open Chart of Accounts
Ctrl+I: This allows you to create an invoice
Ctrl+L: This shortcut is helpful to open a drop-down list, based on which tab the cursor is on
Ctrl+U: This helps users to select or use an item from the drop-down list that has just been opened
Ctrl+R: Open and use the register
Ctrl+G: Based on the line that has been selected, and if you are viewing a register, this shortcut takes you to the Transfer account
Ctrl+F: Find any keyword or term on the page
F1: Open QuickBooks Help for support
Ctrl+1, or F2: This opens the screen showing the Product Information
Ctrl+2, or F3: This allows you to search. In case the Product Information Screen is open, F3 can open the tech help page
F4: Open the technical support page
Esc, or Ctrl+F4: Close an open or active window
Ctrl+F6: Switch to the next window
+: This can be used to increase the number that is highlighted
- : This can be used to decrease the number that is highlighted
Alt+S: Save
Alt+N: Save and move to the next transaction
Alt+P: Move to the previous page
Tab: Move to the next field within a page
Shift+Tab: Move to the previous field
Up arrow: Move to the line above
Down arrow: Move to the line below
Page Up: Go to the previous page in a report or document
Page Down: Go to the next page in a report or document
Ctrl+Page Up: In a register, this lets you go to the first item
Ctrl+Page Down: In a register, this lets you go to the last item
Ctrl+Enter: Record
Ctrl: If you wish to open QuickBooks, without it opening a new company file, press Ctrl as you click on the icon to open it
Alt: This will not open desktop windows when you are opening a file
Alt+F4: Exit
These shortcuts are valid on a register or list of transactions
+: Skip to the next day
- : Return to the previous day
T: Go to Today
W: This opens the first day of the week
K: This opens the last day of the week
M: Go to the first of the month
H: Go to the last day of the month
Y: Opens the first day of the year
[: Open the same day, but in the prior week
]: Open the same day, but in the following week
;: Open the same date, but in the previous month
‘: Open the same date, but in the following month
Alt+Down arrow: Open the calendar. This allows you to select the date you like
Ctrl+M: Allows you to memorize the transactions
Ctrl+T: Opens the list of transactions that have been memorized
Ctrl+P: Print
Ctrl+R+P: This allows you to enter the validation code to register into QuickBooks. Open Help, followed by About QuickBooks and press this shortcut to do so
Ctrl+K: Open the service keys
Ctrl+Alt+Y: This allows you to enter the Year to Date information. Do so by first clicking on About QuickBooks from the Help option
F2 and Ctrl+B+Q: Switch and transfer data onto QuickBooks online

Ctrl+Z: Allows you to undo
Ctrl+X: Cut
Ctrl+C: Copy text
Ctrl+V: Paste copied text
Del: Delete an entry which is on the right side
Backspace: Delete an entry which is on the left side
Home: Move to the first digit or letter within a line or field
End: Move to the last digit or letter within a line or field
Ctrl+Right Arrow: Go to the next word
Ctrl+Left Arrow: Go to the previous word
