Run QB Desktop as administrator

To run as administrator, follow these steps –

  • Look for the QB icon.
  • Right-click it.
  • Now, select Run as administrator option.
  • Finally, check for QuickBooks error code 80070057.

Open company file properly

First, open your QuickBooks, and then open your company file.

  • If you are using a Windows version released before Windows 8, then hit the Windows key, and after that choose All Programs.
  • If you are using Windows 8 or 10 operating system on your PC, enter in QB.
  • From the list of QuickBooks versions, choose that one which you want to open.
  • Look if the QB company file has opened automatically.

Move company file

  • Create a folder on the C:\ drive.

Configure your firewall to allow access to QuickBooks files over the network.

  • Add exceptions to the firewall.
  • Use firewall provider’s instructions to change settings of the firewall so that QuickBooks can send and receive data over the Internet.
  • If changing the settings does not fix QuickBooks error 80070057, first uninstall and then reinstall firewall software.

Make changes to BitDefender antivirus software

Follow the steps given below to make changes to BitDefender so that data transfer over the network is not blocked –

  • Go to the main menu of BitDefender 10.0.
  • From the list, choose Antivirus.
  • Now, look for Custom level and click on it.
  • Choose to Exclude path from the scan.
  • After that, click on the button with the name - New item.
  • In this final step, you have to choose either the mapped drive or the UNC path used for browsing to the QB company file.
